Please post your characters in the characters thread when you get the chance. You guys are third level now. Once I know what levels people are taking, I will give you your additional hit point totals. Remember that the first two levels are full hit points.

We will begin with you guys successfully having returned the herd to the Pandessan base, and resting up a few days.

Any questions: post them here.

oooo lots of goodies, Siscero would like to request additional scrolls if possible or take the time to make them himself.

Also a large shield incase things get ugly.

Siscero is also going for an additional Cleric level so hp are now 16+1d8+2

Woot! I just found Torin's character sheet, so I won't have to completely rebuild him. I'll just reowork him a bit and figure out his next level.

Alright, gave Torin another level of Marshal- I'm pondering going Dwarven Defender later, but that's not a question for several more levels. I also got rid of Power Attack, which I don't think I ever actually used, and took Improved Initiative.

1d8+4 hit points this level.

Torin gets...a five. So that's another 9 HP for the Ironmaster.

Sweetness! We're gonna be totally haus.

Lance, is the "Mage Slayer" feat I chose for Behror OK by you? He wants to devote himself to taking out spellcasters who oppose Pandessa, and he's kicking himself for not being able to take out "Feathers" earlier.

Yep, that's cool with me.

Are you planning on taking at least four levels of Ranger with Behror? If so, I'll have to figure out what effect the minus 4 caster levels penalty will have on a 2nd level caster. If not, I'm on easy street!

Schnope. Behror wants no part of spellcasting. The max level I see him having as a ranger is 3. Looks like it's easy street for you, Ace!

Equipment-wise, I'd like to see if I can possibly find someone I could trade my crossbow for a longbow- mighty composite, if I've got a choice, and I'd adore if it was a magical +1, as well. I'm trying to think what else Torin might need...

Picked Ssicero's scrolls.
I'm guessing the large shield is no problem?

BTW, how do you guys get things to look so nice in the code boxes?

I don't remember seeing a large shield asked for. *reads again* Still missing it.

If it's a mundane large shield, no problem. If it's a magical one, problem.

As far as code boxes, you lay everything out in a text editor. The trick is that you physically press space bar for each step you want something over, not tab. Once you have things lined up nicely, you throw the {code} {/code} boxes around the text and voila.

The mistake I always made was using tabs to space the text out. Tabs are bad, m'kay?

That'd be the shield request.

And can I convince someone to make the swap with me, shortbow for crossbow? I'll need to get some arrows, too, if it goes through.

Ha, about halfway through the post I recall why the name Brunt was niggling at the back of my skull. Yeah, I'm a nerd.

And Torin's father is entirely influenced by the fact I've been reading Discworld novels of late.

Behror is extremely interested in one of those breastplates of silent moves. How much do they want for 'em?

They would cost 2,725 gp.

[1000 gp (+1 bonus) +3750 gp (Silent moves)]/2 (Pandessa bonus) = 2,375 gp. + 350 gp for MW Breastplate.

Not entirely cheap...

Hmm... that's a bit out of our price range. Behror will just have to save up, methinks.

Do they have any masterwork breastplates lying around? No armor bonus, but at least he'd be a teensy bit more quiet.

Behror has a regular breastplate that's in good condition. Would the supply office be willing to accept that one as a partial trade? I think I might be able to scrounge enough moneys from the squad coffers to cover the rest.

Kishi: I set a +2 circumstance bonus if you mentioned resuming patrols to Brunt. With your +9 bonus and the natural 20 you rolled, you had a 31 on your diplomacy check - enough to change Brunt from indifferent to genuinely helpful. :)

Torin was just a little surprised by the abruptness of it, that's all.

Kishi: can you check with Flynn whether he thinks he's going to be able to continue? I'd like to get the game moving again.

Let him know that if he's going to be too busy with girlfriend/school, Exseo can take a hiatus until he's free again and join up with the party later.

I saw him this evening and told him he needed to post his character. He said he needed to level up Exseo. I told him "Sucks to your level up!" Well, not really, we were probably interrupted by "conversation."

I'll check in with him tomorrow and see if he'll be able to post in the next day or two, or if we should rotate Exseo to a temporary assignment with the supply corp.

For bookeeping, what was the bow Torin got? One of the +1 Mighty Composite Shortbows (+1), I assume?

That's the bow.

Even if Flynn levels up Exseo and posts the character, I want to be sure that he can commit to posting three or four times a week. I'd like to keep the game moving along at a fairly brisk pace.

I will begin the adventure tomorrow. Everyone is supplied up, we will begin the second leg of your tour of duty.

I just talked to Flynn, he said that'd be great if he could put Exseo on hiatus for a bit. He's only got a few more weeks of rehersal and play, so he should be able to rejoin the game come mid-December.

Oh yeah - did Behror successfully trade in his old armor, plus an extra 200 gold from the squad coffers for a masterwork breastplate?

Guys? Can Behror use 200 gold of the squad monies to get a slightly quieter suit of armor that could theoretically be enchanted later on?

Rock, since I've gotten two endorsements and no protests, Behror will have droped 200 gold and traded in his old armor for some nifty new masterwork armor. Please deduct 200 gold from the squad coffers.

Lance, how much would a cammo cloak cost? Is it possible we could get them for the whole squad? I'm thinking of a regular weight cloak, made with a cammo pattern to grant a slight penalty to hide in a natural setting.

I'm going to say a Camoflauge cloak will give a +2 competence bonus to hide (in the terrain is was made for) for a cost of 150 gp. It's considered a masterwork cloak. For purposes of terrain, we'll broadly say forest (green cloak), mountain (brown/gray cloak), desert (light tan cloak) and tundra (grey/white cloak).

How about a reversible cloak?

Forrest on one side Mountain on the other?

I'll have to think about that. I already condensed the territories down to four instead. :)

Does anyone remember what season I said it was? I'd posted it in the first thread, but I've forgotten and the original thread is - of course - disappeared.

I'm going to include season and prevailing weather conditions in the status thread, since such things might become an issue when tracking. And in decisions you guys make: a medium drizzle and a fine fog may provide the concealment you guys need to sneak up on opposition forces.

Alright, I'm going to rule that the offensive began in spring, and it is now late spring. The 6th month, for the sake of simplicity.

I'm going to say 'no' to the reversible cloaks. I've already condensed the terrains down into fewer categories.

A proper update will be later today.

I'm going to give the combat thread a try for this combat. We'll see how it goes. Everyone please post once in the combat thread and you can edit your post each round for your new actions.

Also, PLEASE post your relevent attack information in the combat thread when making your attack! This saves me having to dig out each person's stats every time I update! I guess the most important parts are: Attack bonus, AC, damage.

2 questions.

1) what's the initiative order?

2) Why am I always the one to sit on bitey things? :(

1) The initiative order is in the combat thread. Everyone will post once in that thread, and then edit that post on a round by round basis. You do not have to post your intended action in sequence, either.

Hopefully this will help speed up the game by allowing people to post combat actions when they are on the boards, rather than when they are on the boards and everyone before them has already posted.

2) Talon is the most carefree and casual of the party, and failed his spot check by the most. :)

Oh, right, I took improved initiative.

I dislike the fact that edits don't show up as new posts when you're browsing! Other than that, the new board is pure gravy. Of course - as a power-abusing mod - this makes it very easy to change people's posts inconspicuously! Mwa ha ha!

We're just waiting for Nyoibo's update for round two.

You know one thing that sucks about warmages? They can only get their spells from the Evocation school, and they have all of them except for tensers floating disk and flare at level 3.

once I get them I'll be doing 1d3+8/9 with a simple ray of frost. :D

Woah! That'll be pretty handy. You'll have to throw on a thick Austrian accent and utter "Ice to meet you," whenever you blast someone with that.

I'm excited to take my next three levels - specialize with the dwarven waraxe, and then start down the path of the occult slayer. What a beautiful class! :D

Yeah, I got happy when I saw the feat Extra edge, gives me a +1 to my Warmages edge, and adds 1/4 of my level to it as well, then with a +2 from Weapon Spec, I'll have a nice +7 or more bonus to damage with all my spells.

I see only one problem with this fight, I'm running out of spells, I've only got 3 more level 1 spells, then I'm down to my cantrips, and they only do about 5 damage.

I'd prefer if the damned thing just gave up and died! Unfortunately, it doesn't seem all that hurt... yet. I can take maybe one more hit and then Behror is going to have to backpedal away.
