So here is the new list of awesome add-ons (alphabetical, of course):
ArkInventory
Curse
WoWInterface
Ark is a full-featured inventory managment system that allows you to sort and break-down bagspace by content. It also has some nifty features that allow you to more easily manage trade goods and to sell all of your accumulated trash items with just a single click. You can also see all of your other characters banks and inventories from any of your characters.
AtlasLoot Enhanced
Curse
WoWInterface
Atlas has long been a mainstay of WoW dungeoneers, it gives you handy maps to help you navigate instances along with boss locations and even a complete list of the loot they drop.
Note: Just don't try to check the stats or appearance of items that haven't yet dropped on your server or the server will boot your client.
Auctioneer
Curse
WoWInterface
Auctioneer is another oldie but goodie. It is basically a market tracking system for the in-game auction house. It tracks item costs and can interpolate what you should sell things for to make the most of your auctions. This add-on helps save time and increase profitablility meaning you can spend a greater portion of your playing time actually... I dunno... PLAYING!
Bagnon
Curse
WoWInterface
Bagnon is the successor to the popular all-in-one-inventory mod. This basically transforms your backpack/bags in your inventory and bank each into a single gigantic bag! The interface is simple, items are color-coded by thier quality.
Bartender
Curse
WoWInterface
Bartender replaces the Blizzard actionbars with robust, movable, morphable breakable, scriptable bars. Casual gamers will enjoy the clean features and ability to compact their button bars into a rectangle with chat to either side. Raiders and PvPers will love the fact that they can create elaborate key bindings and sequential macros.
Deadly Boss Mods (DBM)
Curse
WoWInterface
With BigWigs Boss Mods now on the ftitz, DBM has become the boss mod of choice. This mod provides critical information about boss timers and phases that allow dungeoneers and raiders to better tackle the challenges facing them. Group/raid leaders who have never used this mod will wonder how they ever did without it as it can be configured to announce what is going on in the fight for those people who don't even have the mod. It can even whisper players with helpful information such as: "You are the bomb. RUN AWAY!"
Decursive
Curse
WoWInterface
If you can cast any form of debuff removal spell, YOU NEED DECURSIVE. The mod allows you to bind your dispells to a mouse click action and simply click people to cleanse them of whatever nastiness they have contracted.
FuBar
Curse
FuBar is a top and or bottom bar that collects your addons, clock and other minimap icons to grant easy access to those and other fubar specific mods from one place in a clean and organized fashion. Most mods written on the ACE framework plug in to FuBar automagically, while the abundance of FuBar specific mods are mindboggling (SpeedFu, CalendarFu, DurabilityFu, PerformanceFU and so on).
ItemRack
Curse
WoWInterface
If you have more than one set of armor, YOU NEED ItemRack. It allows you to configure armor sets ahead of time so that you can quickly and easily swap between sets (PvP set, tank set, DPS set, resist set, etc). In all honesty, I would hate playing a warrior if I didn't have this mod.
Mappy
Curse
Ever wanted a square minimap? That's where Mappy comes in. It also allows you to move and configure the minimap to your liking, as well as the buttons!
Omen Threat Meter
Curse
WoWInterface
Omen is NOT dead. In fact, it's better than ever. Blizzard's LUA has made threat values available which allowed Adrine (developer of Omen and friend of mine) to make use of them to show players exactly where they stand for threat. Sure the Blizzard UI has its own built in threat warnings, but that's only useful if you are too stupid to tell that your threat bar is longer than the tanks.
Quartz
Curse
WoWInterface
Quartz replaces the crappy cast bars provided by the Blizzard UI. They are movable, resizable, click through, you can bind them to other unit frames so that you know how much longer that debuff is going to last on your target or exactly how much time is left on your cooldowns. Highly recommended, but it's a pain to configure.
QuestHelper
Curse
WoWInterface
QuestHelper is a mod that integrates with your map to help plot out your questing and to eliminate travel time while making sure you overlap as many quests and objectives as possible. A must have for the lazy player who hates to read quests.
RatingBuster
Curse
WoWInterface
So many ratings, so little time... RatingBuster tells you just how much that + crit rating, or + hit rating will actually benefit you and can even perform on the spot comparisons of loot to the loot you are wearing. This allows you to make better informed equipment choices and to ultimately elevate your play.
Recount
Curse
Recount is an excellent damage meter that you can use to track your damage in a group environment. It's helpful graphs and statistics allow you to check out other players strategies, or to simply disect your own and eliminate weaknesses. This is a must have for raid/group leaders as it allows you to quickly and easily see who your worst performers are and either shape them up or ship them out.
X-Perl Unit Frames
Curse
WoWInterface
X-perl replaces the Blizzard unit frames with ones that don't actually suck. It is easy to use, easy to configure and best of all, the default unit frames layout isn't half bad. This mod comes HIGHLY recommended.
That's all folks... if you know of any awesome add-ons that I have missed in this post... post them and I will add them to the list.
