I have discovered that I love to tinker. Jenn and I are currently setting up a workspace in our garage and reorganizing the space to accomodate more tools. I'll have to pull the car out of the garage when I want to work on something, but temporary curbside parking is a such small price to pay for a workshop in my house.
The next project I want to work on is a small touch-screen juke box built into an old standing floor radio. I'm leaning towards an old Philco. Ebay has some small ~8" touch screen monitors selling for around $30-60. Slap a wireless card onto an old computer inside with a big hard drive for remote maintenance...I think it would be pretty awesome. What do you guys think? Would that be a cool project?
Here's a photo of the Philco I'd use for inspiration:

Hell yeah.
Are you thinking of streaming music from a laptop/desktop to minimize harddrive requirements internally?
I could see adding a small SD slot to allow the machine to work without the network -- be easy to create a playlist for a party and not worry about network problems.

My current computer will go inside. It's got a 250 GB hard drive that currently houses our media library. I hadn't considered streaming as an option, but that isn't a bad idea.
That is ingenious, if coupled with streaming the audio.
