And there's two more to go! If you don't pay attention to it, you're ok.

QFT. Not news to me, not affecting me either way (especially since nobody's dragged me to see it yet) :)

*contempates actually buying plane ticket to Brazil to drag Lynx to see this* Nah, on second thought that would be too cruel even for me.

There's a good chance I will be seeing this on opening weekend. Probably not opening night. Dear god I hope not, but opening weekend at least. I'm such a nice guy.

Thankfully, I've been able to avoid the fancraze as it's not real big here. I just found out about the second movie when I actually tried to look up some news online. Yes, here I was trying to enrich my mind and read about current events in the world I'm largely cut off from.....and POW, that piece of cinematic drivel was glaring in my face!!!! Then I found Twighlight ads on other sites....I can't escape it!

It's okay Xeno, you get to take one for the team....we've all been there. We'll try to help fix your psyche afterward....or at least read the link when you rant about the loss of over 2hrs of your life.

No, Xeno. Watching shit like this doesn't make you a good guy. It makes you- and I don't use this often, so I hope you acknowledge the weight of this sentence- it makes you a pussy. And it means you're paying money to the people who made that piece of crap movie. So, you're pretty much losing on all fronts.

Well you know how it goes - you are what you eat, he who hunts beasts becomes a beast himself, and so on. So it is, that many men consider that, in order to get the pussy, sometimes you must BE a pussy. At least that's the only sensible explanation I see here.

I'm just hoping that since this one has werewolves, maybe there will be some big werewolf/vampire fight. But I'm guessing the werewolves are allergic to silver cause it gives them the shits or something. Cause, you know, vampires stay out of the sun cause they sparkle.

The main werewolf falls in love with the main vampire's baby later on. While the baby is still an infant. Now, does that sound like a werewolf that is going to kick a lot of ass?

Wow, you know a lot more about the series than I do. I just knew the main vampire gave the girlfriend/knocked up chick a impromptu cesarian and turned her into a vampire in the process.

My wife read the books. They're apparently awful, but she feels some compulsion to read a series to completion after she starts it, so I got to hear the complaints about it.

Yeah, that sort of stuff happens. After my fiancée got season 1 of Sex and the City as a gift or something, she became absolutely obsessed about watching it all to the very end, all the while constantly cursing the series for how stupid it was.

I actually liked Sex and the City. Though I wish Charlotte would have showed her boobs more than once.

I admit I hated most of the women. Especially Sara Jessica Parker's character. But I had the hots for Charlotte. Cause, well, Kristin Davis is hot.

There may- may- be a valid reason to have watched the show, but I don't think that's good enough.

My wife loved the show, and dragged me to go watch the movie with her.

It was... pretty pedestrian.

I see our roles are reversed here.

My wife generally does not have any idea what I might or might not like out of movie. The number of I've Romantic Comedies I've watched with her is... ugh... let's just say that half the time we're watching these movies, I end up spending most of my time reading a book.

Ya know, I've never forced a man to watch some movie I know he'll despise....mostly because I don't want to have to suffer through it, myself. I'm not into chick flicks, but have no problem going to see a movie my S.O. isn't interested in without him.

I only saw Twilight because Siv bailed on his siblings for that skanky piece he's with and I ended up taking them to see it. The only redeeming part of the movie for me was seeing the places I used to hike at.

that's the problem, my wife has a fairly poor grasp of what movies I will end up hating. The ironic thing is that most of the romantic comedies we watch we end up hating anyway, but for some reason those are still the only movies we can safely watch. The main reason? My wife hates watching movie that has gratuitous violence or gratuitous sex in it. (then again, part of her job is to work with people who have experience both of these in violent forms every day, so I can sort of understand) That pretty much gets rid of most action flicks, about 50% comedies you see now a days (simply because a lot of comedies are aimed at young, hormonal college guy humor), and maybe 50% adventure flicks. The left overs tend to be documentaries, some comedies, dramas, and romantic comedies.

You know what has been a steady hit in our house though? animated movies. For some reason, cartoon violence (i.e. watching someone get his arm cut off in futurama) offends her far less.

The last book is the only one that doesn't have a movie deal yet, due to it being the book where Stephanie Meyers goes completely fucking insane and writes a bunch of unfilmable shit. Highlights include:

-Bella and Edward finally getting married, and Edward fucking Bella so hard he knocks her unconscious against the headboard with his superstrength
-Bella getting pregnant, the baby developing superfast and kicking so hard it severs her spine, due to its superstrength
-Fountains upon fountains of blood as Bella gives birth
-Edward giving Bella a C-Section with his vampire teeth
-And finally, the aforementioned Werewolf falling in love with the baby

Although if they do make a movie out of it, I'll probably go see it just for these scenes.

Also, I've been told that Edward admits he's a pillowbiter at some point in the book.

You know, if anyone ever ACTUALLY commits those highlights to film, I MAY be convinced to go see that. Just so I can be the person pointing and laughing my ass off the whole time, then later asking, "What do you mean, it's not a comedy?".
