With all the board changes, I'm not sure this is still the appropriate place for posting fiction, but it's my best guess. Anyway, in the tradition of writing at least one short story per year (which I've been keeping up more or less since 2004), I rushed to finish this one, which was sitting there near completion, before the end of the year. Nah... more on the nerdy side :P It's actually a sorta origin story for a D&D campaign world I came up with, spurred by the 3E Manual of the Planes.
