Went to see Alice in Wonderland last night with a 12 year old. :)
It ain't your mother's Alice. She all grown up now.
The story is a bit mixed up and in places quite silly.
Its one of those you can truly say is a coming of age sort of story.
She goes down the rabbit hole again.
Visually its really pretty awesome.
Dep is VERY restrained in this - oh yes, he is still Dep and plays weird well but he is more sweet and kinda sad rather than nutso over the top as the Mad Hatter.
The opium smoking caterpillar is awesome (the 12 year old leaned over and said; "Hey, that's Snape's voice)he becomes a butterfly.
The queens are just weird and kinda creepy in their different ways.
The white queen gives Alice her first grown up outfit, and while still feminine it is not what the women of that era would wear (somewhat scandalous actually).
If you have children or really really like Dep, I would recommend this.

Hopefully we can find time to see it this weekend. I figured this was a good match for Tim Burton. I didn't want his rehashed version of the original so I'm happy this is a further development of the story in a way.
Elliot: Burton's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wasn't too long ago. That was one of his worst especially if he had a hand in the awful script. The boat ride was complete trash and the ending worse.
